Zach Ertz will have some extra motivation during the 2024 NFL season.

The Washington Commanders tight end and his wife Julie announced the birth of their twin sons, Kace and Kyren, on Saturday.

Having twins around the house won't be the only change for Ertz this season, as he'll also be suiting up for a new team in Washington. The veteran spent the last three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before signing a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Commanders this offseason.

The move to Washington reunites him with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, who was his head coach in Arizona in 2021 and 2022.

The 33-year-old Ertz played seven games for the Cardinals in 2023 before a quad injury put him on the injured reserve for the remainder of the year. In his limited action, he recorded 187 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Ertz's best years came when he was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013 to 2021. During that stretch, he had 579 catches for 6,267 yards and 38 touchdowns, earning three Pro Bowl bids. In 2018, he had a career-high 1,163 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Now on a Commanders team looking to turn things around, Ertz will look to be a veteran presence.
