The Houston Astros announced that they will be selling the team's iconic 1999 batting practice hats in the official Team Store in center field at Minute Maid Park.

The BP hat was a spinoff of the team's late-1990s gameday hats. The team's colors were dark blue and gold then, a dramatic shift from when the Astros wore their infamous orange-and-yellow rainbow jerseys.

That 1999 Astros team featured a pair of Hall of Famers (Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio), one of the game's all-time best closers (Billy Wagner), two 20-game winners (José Lima, Mike Hampton) and an MVP winner (Ken Caminiti). Houston won the NL Central after going 97-65 but fell to the eventual pennant-winning Atlanta Braves in the NLDS.
