Justin Thomas hit a miraculous shot amid a hot third round at the PGA Championship on Saturday.

After Thomas hit his first shot of the 14th hole left of the pin and into the rough, he somehow holed from the bank for a birdie, sending the Valhalla Golf Course crowd into a frenzy.

The shot was Thomas' fifth birdie of the round and his performance has helped him climb the leaderboard. If he can continue surging the rest of the day, he could be on his way to a strong finish.

Thomas began the PGA Championship with five birdies in the first round, but three bogies kept him from the top of the leaderboard.

After an up-and-down Thursday, Thomas carded a four-under-par 67 in round two, notching five birdies with just one bogey.

Thomas is still five strokes behind the leader, Xander Schauffele, who is 14-under-par, but a strong showing on Sunday could help him vault to the top of the leaderboard.

Thomas' only major wins of his career have come at the PGA Championship as he won in 2017 and 2022. The 31-year-old is searching for the first win of the 2024 season after clinching a top-10 finish three times.

Perhaps Thomas' stellar flop shot will give him some momentum heading into the late stages of the tournament so the Louisville, Kentucky, native can win in front of his hometown fans.
