TMZ: Former NFL Star Terrell Suggs Arrested on Assault Charge in Arizona
April 10, 2024
Former Baltimore Raven Terrell Suggs was arrested late Tuesday night in Maricopa County, Arizona, on an assault charge.
According to TMZ Sports, jail records show that Suggs was also charged with offense against public order.
TMZ Sports later reported Suggs' arrest came after he "allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to kill a man during an argument at a Scottsdale, Arizona, Starbucks."
TMZ cited police documents which said the argument started after Suggs made contact with another driver's vehicle in the drive-through lane.
Suggs, 41, spent 17 seasons in the NFL from 2003 to 2019. He played his first 16 seasons in Baltimore before splitting the 2019 campaign between the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
Suggs moved to Arizona as a teenager and played high school football in the state. He also went on to play collegiately at Arizona State.
The Ravens selected Suggs with the No. 10 pick in the 2003 NFL draft, and he went on to become a seven-time Pro Bowler, one-time First Team All-Pro, one-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and two-time Super Bowl champion.
A spokesperson for the jail at which Suggs was booked told TMZ that he has since been released from custody after a quick hearing in front of a judge.
