Drake Maye at 2024 NFL Combine: Measurements, Highlights and Reaction
March 2, 2024
If the feeling about Drake Maye leading up to the 2024 NFL draft is that he's a model of what teams would like a quarterback to look like in terms of size, the North Carolina star had a good showing when he measured in at the scouting combine on Saturday.
Maye officially measured in at more than 6'4", 223 pounds with 32.25-inch arms and a wingspan just over 6'4".

Maye is, not surprisingly, bigger than Caleb Williams by height, weight, arm length and wingspan. Williams has a slight edge in hand size.

Maye has reportedly been impressive all week at the combine. NFL insider Jordan Schultz noted teams have "marveled" at his arm talent and leadership.

Maye, like Williams and Jayden Daniels, is not participating in throwing drills at the combine. He was in Indianapolis to measure in, go through the medical evaluation and meet with teams.
The stats for Maye during the 2023 season at North Carolina took a step back from the previous year, but he still performed well with 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns and a 63.3 completion percentage in 12 games. He added 449 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
B/R's NFL scouting department has Maye ranked as the top-ranked quarterback and No. 3 overall prospect in this year's class. Derrik Klassen compared the 21-year-old to Justin Herbert when he was a prospect.
Going just by the measurables, that comparison doesn't do Maye many favors. Herbert checked in at 6'6", 236 pounds with 32.875-inch arms and 10-inch hands leading up to the 2020 draft.
But there doesn't seem to be any concern that Maye's physical tools are going to translate to the NFL. He will almost certainly be one of the top three picks in the draft.
North Carolina hasn't announced when its pro day will take place, but that will be the next major event on the calendar for Maye to show off his skills for teams.
